"The inspiration for this styled shoot was simply, 'For the love of Romance'" - Chandelabra Wedding Planning & Event Styling
Steeped in old world charm and tucked amongst the high rises of Perth's CBD, is the historic Bishops House and Gardens. The house is now home to Lamont's restaurant and wedding venue which has been an iconic CBD dining location for more than two decades. Built in 1859 for the first Anglican Bishop of Perth, Bishops House is a two storey, heritage listed house and is also one of the few privately owned and managed heritage listed gardens in the city. With lush lawns and a garden oasis, Bishops House evokes the feeling of a time long past when only the birdsong and clatter of horse drawn carts could be heard.
Drawing on the look and feel of the venue, wedding planners and event stylists Chandelabra aimed to create a classic, timeless look for the shoot that also had a freshness of today. This was achieved by using a colour palette of rich, warm and earthy tones of claret and plum that were then lifted with romantic pastel colours like cream and champagne.
Big and beautiful garden roses, anemones and foliage that looked as though they had just been plucked from the surrounding gardens gave a glorious texture to the tables. A large unstructured garden bouquet completed the look. This idea also featured in the bridal bouquet.
The table settings were comprised of lush, soft grey linen tablecloths, flowing sheer fabric runners, antique silverware, candlesticks, white compotes, gold mercury candle holders and vintage silver flower frogs which held the hand made place cards adorned with a gold wax seal.
Model Courtney wears a Karen Willis Holmes gown with simple bodice and full tulle skirt finished with lace.
A simple, ruffled white wedding cake was decorated with full blown roses and trailing greenery.
Cream hand made paper stock was finished with a whimsical style font in red oxide and a luxurious, personalised gold wax seal.
