Elopement - The New Wedding
For some couples, planning a large-scale wedding with all the bells and whistles (and the price tag) can be an overwhelming and daunting task. Some couples prefer to take some of the stress out of getting married and focus on their relationship and the sentiment of getting married.
Danielle White Director and Master Planner at White+White Weddings and Events shared her tips with everAFTER for planning an intimate elopement simply, stylishly and most importantly stress-free.
TIMING
Legally in Australia you need to register with the government at least one month prior to your elopement. However, your celebrant can do this on your behalf.
CHOOSING A CELEBRANT
Remember to choose a celebrant that you feel comfortable with. Someone who shares your vision for the day.
GET CREATIVE
Make this your day! With a limited guest list you can have fun with the details. Let your personalities shine through with the colour scheme and outfits.
THE LOCATION
Think of choosing a place that is particularly memorable or special to both you and your partner.
CAPTURING THE DAY
It’s vital that this special occasion is captured by a professional photographer so the memories are captured forever. Choose someone you feel a connection with and feel comfortable with. Your photos will thank you for it.
MID-WEEK WEDDING
Weddings during the week = great prices. Suppliers are often more than happy to give you a discount for a mid-week wedding. There is also a greater chance they will be available for your date!
LOCAL PLANNERS
Reach out to a local planner. They can provide great location ideas and supplier recommendations to help you create your dream setting for your day. At w+w Weddings and Events we can customise packages to turn your elopement vision into a reality.
CELEBRATE
You're newlyweds! Celebrate after the ceremony with a lunch or dinner with your closest family and friends. Sharing your photos from the day is also a nice touch and will ensure you guests feel like they are a part of the day.
