Lebanese couturier Zuhair Murad’s Spring 2020 bridal collection, took inspiration from Spanish weddings, flamenco dancers and matadors but it was his intricate details that his a magician with, that reminded us of his Iberian culture.

The beading and embroidery were inspired from ornate embellishments of a bullfighter’s suit, if you look closely some gowns revealed outlines of tiny fans, hand sewn with impeccable needlework. The cape, a signature of Murad’s, reminded us of torero’s uniform, while veils and headbands festooned with oversize Spanish girl flowers which we are seeing more of as a style for bridal veils and headpieces.

There were gowns for even the more minimal bride that combined pieced lace and sheer form fitting. For the more romantic at heart details of Swiss-dotted tulle, pleated ruffle trims and off the shoulder long-sleeved gowns. It was also nice to see the full skirt in full swing, tiered and layered with three dimensional embellishments, but also designed for the more modern wedding party with two-in-one looks. Detachable overskirts could be removed for dancing into the early hours of the morning.
