the styling brief
It started with a Hare. “I know it is an odd starting off point, but Deux Belettes owner, Sharon and I have a love for something different, we love a talking point!” Brisbane bridal designer George Wu stunning black gown added for the magic setting created. “We wanted to create a table filled with dark tones, black roses and luscious berries.” There was no doubt luxury dinnerware expert Table for Louis would be on hand for place settings. “We thought the sophistication and elegance of her tableware would be a lovely contrast to the wild romance of the centre of the tables.”
The second setting was all about the fabulous fabric discovered, which created the table linen. “It was to be all about romantic elegance, selecting white roses and hydrangeas with pops of yellow to compliment the fabric.”
the venue
Deux Belettes, The French House is a real labour of love, crafted over 38 years by the owners Sharon and Ross. "I have done hundreds of weddings at Deux Belettes, it is such a special venue for me, so for this shoot, I really wanted to showcase areas I had not utilised before. The wildness of the star jasmine was the inspiration for the first table. I selected a mirrored tabletop to reflect the wildness of the jasmine."
For the second setting, it was about showcasing the ivy-covered wall that we detailed with blush and white florals weaved around the arch.
Deux Belettes, The French House is a versatile venue, there are multiple marquee locations, gorgeous ceremony options and various undercover spaces for intimate dining.
floral delights
The French Petal, who is the true flower fairy, went about designing a wild romantic look. Incorporating black baccara roses, Queen Anne lace, scaposia and fresh herbs from the vegetable garden at Deux Belettes.
For the second table, The French Petal used white hydrangeas from the Deux Belettes garden, white roses and rudbeckia. The archway at Deux Belettes was adorned with quicksand roses, white disbud, mocha orchids, white orchids, secret garden roses, white roses.
the setting
The tablecloth was the start, the fabulous vibrant yellows and greys from the print were lifted by stunning whitee floral details with pops of yellow. "We wanted to create a purely elegant table that used colour in a very subtle way."
Table for Louis’ gorgeous amber glassware and sophisticated tableware were the perfect accompaniment.
