Why you started in weddings?
When I begun collecting treasures for my own wedding, it started as an enjoyable item to check of my list but quickly became a deep passion, spending so much of my down time in op shops or trawling the internet.
I remember so vividly the turning point for me, when I realised I could actually make weddings beautiful for a living. I praised my then boss for having so much passion for what he did. How wonderful that must feel, to go to work everyday and just adore every moment.
He asked me what in life I felt that way about. It was a millisecond before I replied with “designing and collecting styling treasures for my wedding”. He looked at me & said “well, there you go. Do that!”. My hustle was ignited and the rest is history.
What do you do to pass the time & stay creative?
Staying creative is exposing myself to beauty.
Drenching myself in anything Baz Luhrmann has touched. Taking in the intoxicating enchantment, shapes & palette only the Goddess of nature can create. Getting lost in the evocative and illusiveness of architectural history. The inspiration and deep skin tingling ways of music, what it makes you see & feel, evoking distinct moments in your life. Nothing quite as pleasurable, transcendent & easy to source as music.
Pinteresting my fave artists, allowing the imagery vortex to lull over my eyes. Heaven.
I have children so I’ve less time for this kind of indulgence but I’ve become quite equipped at finding moments and absorbing it mindfully. Music is always played in my home though.
Drink wine and be merry and dream big wedding dreams with your lover in iso.
