everAFTER visited sunny Gold Coast for a royal afternoon tea hosted by Palazzo Versace and styled and co-hosted by Alysia Bridger from Celebrations By Alysia and Rachell Hansen of Emrajo Linen. On the 20th anniversary of the passing of Princess Diana, Paul Burrell was the event's distinguished guest relaying his experience as the princess' confidante and butler.

It was an afternoon of opulence and decadence that begun the moment everAFTER entered the Palazzo Versace lobby. By definition palazzo means luxury, glamour and sophistication. The styling of the Royal Afternoon Tea was no different with over 5,000 roses in lavish floral arrangements and a regal colour scheme of gold and purple. Gold cutlery, gold chairs with lavish chair linen, gold candles and a gold tablecloth set the scene for an indulgent afternoon of high tea and stories from Paul Burrell butler to Diana Princess of Wales and member of the royal staff for 21 years.

Over cucumber sandwiches, scones with jam and cream and of course, English tea, Paul Burrell detailed his extraordinary life of etiquette and service to the British royal family. "Etiquette and manners is putting someone else before yourself and that's what Princess Diana did. She taught a lesson to be learnt about people. Love is love."
