PROFESSIONAL ADVICE FOR WEDDING DAY SMILES

Do you have any suggestions for brides-to-be for their wedding day smile?
Wedding photos last a lifetime and it’s lovely to relive your wedding each and every time you look at them. You don’t want any regrets about your smile, so plan ahead and book a consultation appointment as part of your wedding day preparations. Whitening will instantly brighten your smile and is a quick fix, this should be done around two to three weeks before the big day. Invisalign is a great alternative to braces if you want to straighten your teeth. Treatment should start at least 6-9 months before the wedding. Porcelain veneers are another wonderful option if you want to change the shape of your teeth, they can achieve great anti-ageing results and should be started three months in advance.

Do you have any advice for brides taking care of their teeth in lead up to their wedding day?
It’s advisable to clean and floss twice a day, every day, but in the lead up to the wedding day, every bride should make this a priority. Depending on the length of the engagement, I highly recommend a professional clean every 6 months to remove the build-up of plaque that can cause decay and discolouration. If you are a heavy coffee drinker or enjoy red wine, a professional clean is especially important to reduce staining. Brides should aim to have at least one professional clean close to their wedding date.

Do you recommend for brides to have their teeth whitened?
Whitening is an excellent way to instantly brighten your smile. Our Zoom In-Chair Whitening Procedure only takes 45 minutes. Results have shown clients achieving 8 shades whiter in just one session. A whiter smile gives you more confidence on your wedding day and one less thing a bride needs to worry about.

Is there a particular kind of food or diet that brides should try?
It’s best to stay away from any coloured food or drink that can stain the enamel on the teeth. The big culprits are caffeine, red wine, curries and tobacco products.

PERSONAL NOTE

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’m originally from Brisbane, but after travelling the world for work and fun I moved to the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney and opened my practice in the North Sydney CBD. I’m passionate about my job and I love being able to transform my client’s lives by creating their perfect smile. At home, the beach lifestyle provides an amazing counterpoint to work, the local community is great and I’m proud to spend my summer months volunteering at Bronte Surf Life Saving Club.

Why do you like working with brides?
Being able to look after a bride and create her dream smile is a very rewarding experience. Creating a beautiful smile enhances a bride’s confidence, which naturally shines through on her wedding day and for the rest of her life. A dress stays in the closet, but a smile is forever!

What restaurants are you loving at the moment?
For brekky you can find me at Bogey Hill Café in Bronte, North Bondi Fish is a great spot for lunch and dinner, and 3 Blue Ducks is a favourite day or night. On the weekends my wife and I are loving the burgers at the new hot spot, Milky Lane at Bondi Beach.
