Temperley 2021 collection ‘Serenade’

Temperley London presented its new ‘Serenade’ 2021 bridal collection during New York’s bridal week, held online this year for media and buyers.

The collection marks a new direction for the designer as known in past seasons for more bohemian and ethereal gowns. Their signature Temperley embroidery however remains and is complemented by a transition into casual sophistication with additions of jumpsuits, tailored coats, and clean flowing duchess satin gowns. Reflecting bridal wear for elopements and smaller ceremonies.

“There has been a growing demand for more understated and classic bridal options for the differing wedding trends of the moment.”

The designs are clean, elegant silhouette’s in structured Italian duchess satin. New styles include the Ophelia and Clemence gowns. Ophelia is a glamourous and romantic gown with a sheer corded French lace back, detailed with satin covered buttons. In addition, the Clemence gown offers a refined simplicity, which is accented with a statement bow detail at the back waist. The clean square neckline is framed with contoured straps, and a row of covered buttons detail the back bodice.

Arizona

Arizona

For a more understated bridal look, the Arizona two-piece is an exquisite bias slip dress with a floor length coat that has a distinctly 1930s glamourous feel, echoing an age of Hollywood screen sirens. Created by Alice Temperley MBE for the model Arizona Muse on her wedding day, this outfit is elegant and refined, for a bride who is looking for something a little different. The Pandora dress, cut in the same crepe backed satin as the Arizona two piece is cut to emphasise and elongate the body; the polished glamour of a 1930s screen siren inspired this statuesque gown.

Finally, for more tailored options, the Rose Jumpsuit and Garance dress are perfect for city weddings. The Rose Jumpsuit is created in an exquisite French vintage double scallop lace, with delicate scallop detailing framing the halter neckline and can be worn with the Arizona coat for a contemporary, stylish wedding. While the Garance dress, an elegant floor length wrap coat dress is based on an iconic Temperley style from the designer’s archives.
